Pride returned to Southend in 2018, and we helped the organisers put on a fun family day to celebrate.
We helped with security, staging, event plans, and general logistics.
The event consisted of a vibrant parade up the High Street, to finish with a party in Warrior Square. There was a main stage with choirs, singers and some special guests, food and drink vendors and community organisations.
We helped South Essex Active Travel (SEAT) team launch a series of roadshow events in locations across south Essex.
The aim of the roadshows was to get people thinking about active travel and how walking, cycling and the use of public transport can better connect them to jobs, education and training opportunities.
Christmas Lights Switch-On
Annual event since 2011
Christmas planning is all year round for the team at Kiwi. With a growing portfolio of clients in the public sector we are delighted to specialise and deliver outstanding Christmas events programmes for the community.
From Christmas Switch On’s, Winter Extravaganzas to stunning 3D Video Mapping displays on buildings within high streets.
Kiwi work closely with local Councils and Business Improvement Districts, to not only turn public spaces into magical environments for people of all ages to enjoy, but ultimately to fulfill the main brief for businesses – to encourage footfall and dwell time of this footfall.
We creatively manage budgets, to make full use of funds available, communication is key and regular planning meetings are set to relay progress of development.
Annual event since 2011
The Southend Italian Festival is a feast of all things Italian, and we sourced offerings from the very best (and authentic) Italian food producers, restaurants and bars.
Entertainment throughout the day included pizza making workshops, live music, and street entertainment.
The event spanned further than the High Street inr ecent years, including the Royals Shopping Centre, Adventure Island, and the crowning glory, a Supercar Catwalk down the seafront, starring gorgeous exotica from marques such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Lancia.
Festival of Wheels
Everything wheel-related and everyone with a passion for wheel-based fun was invited to the Festival of Wheels. From super cars to classic cars, wheelchair dancers to daredevil BMX displays, if it moves on wheels, then it as celebrated.
We created different zones throughout the High Street and seafront, devoted to different themes. The High Street played host to car displays, live entertainment and a stunt arena while down on the seafront, there was bike clubs, motorbike flat land stunts, motorbike and scooter displays and more live music, and street entertainment.
Kiwi were delighted to win the tender to provide Southend’s first Maritime festival.
Over 25,000 people attended this 2 day event which saw a main 8 x 6m ARC stage on the beach, Shanty Performances on the seafront, Kite surfing displays, boat trips, rowing displays, model boat exhibitions, choir performances, local bands and acoustic artists.
The festival also included a food and drink aspect which was wonderfully received.
